How and where are classes being held?
Classes are held at TAF@Saghalie in Federal Way, on Saturdays from 9:30am to 12:30pm for 15 weeks.
Fall semester is from September through January and spring semester is from February through June.
How is the school run? Is KSFW affiliated with a religious institution?
The Korean School of Federal Way is a non-profit organization registered in the State of Washington and is not affiliated with any religious institution or company.
KSFW is operated by administrators and teaching staff with the support of board members and parent volunteers.
Who can register for classes?
Anyone interested in learning Korean language and culture can register.
Classes are open to students as young as 4 years old (pre-k) to adults.
Is lunch provided?
Pre-pandemic, KSFW provided quality lunch meals to students, however due to COVID-19 and in compliance with the Federal Way Public Schools’ guidance at this time we are unable to provide meal services. As an alternative we are planning to offer snacks and will have further information for registered students.
How do I register?
We will accept online registrations only for the 2021-2022 school year.
KSFW recently relaunched our website with improved security and a streamlined registration process.

Tuition payment can also be made online with Paypal.
You do not need an account to use PayPal’s safe and secure payment platform.
How are students placed in classes?
For new students, KSFW will contact the student to schedule a Zoom call for a brief interview to determine language proficiency level and then place the student in an appropriate class.
For returning students, the previous year’s teacher determine the appropriate class in consultation with student’s parents and guardians.
How many students are in a class?
To maintain instruction quality and classroom management, each class is capped at 20 students.
And each class is supported by 2-3 teaching assistants.
Are parents or guardians able to participate in class?
In the beginning of each semester there will opportunities, such as open house, for parents, guardians, and families to participate and visit KSFW.
Through these opportunities, we hope student families will actively engage with KSFW.
Furthermore, for anyone interested volunteering reach out to your student’s teacher or Jane Lee, Principal to hear of opportunities.
